One-woman show

Joy Demain brings to life Fanny Brice, Norma Desmond, Velma Kelly, Agnes Gooch and Reno Sweeney in her one-woman show at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Starbright Theater at Sun City Pinnacle Community Center, 2215 Thomas Ryan Blvd. For ages 18 and over only. Tickets are $8. Call 363-1341.

Lil' Abner

The Garold Gardner Scholarship Foundation presents "Lil' Abner," a Broadway-like production based on Al Capp's cartoon at 8 p.m. today and Saturday at the Rainbow Library Amphitheater, 3150 N. Buffalo Dr. Tickets are $7 for adults; $6 for seniors; $5 for children 5-17. Children under 5 admitted free. Call 243-7312.

Sing and dance-along

Joanie Bartels, the children's entertainer who earned a gold record, will be at the Winchester Community Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday leading sing-along, dance-along performances. For children ages three and up. Admission is $3. Call 455-7340.

Fine photography

The Contemporary Arts Collective at the Arts Factory, 103 E. Charleston Blvd., has a new gallery space devoted to the display of Contemporary Fine Art photography. Its first show, "Hortt, Morgan, Stolz," is on exhibit through August 29. Call 382-3886.

Works of Poor, Figler shown

An opening for artist Nigel Poor's exhibit, "Beyond the Elements: Photographs by Nigel Poor," will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush Street. Call 229-4631.

The photograph exhibit of Las Vegas native Rayann Figler, entitled "Twice in Twenty-Four Hours," will be shown Enigma Garden Cafe, 918 1/2 South 4th St., through July 29.

All arenas

The Off Broadway Theater Actors Workshop trains students in theater, film and television. Adult classes are 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Mondays, 2-4 p.m. Wednesdays. Children's classes are 10-11:30 a.m. Saturdays. Call 737-0611.

Theatrical season

The Off Broadway Theater, 900 E. Karen Ave., will hold an open audition for its 1999-2000 season. Its plays will include " Moon Over Buffalo," "Convertible Girl," "Rumors" and "Ping Pong." Roles are available for men and women ages 20-60. Auditions will be at 6 p.m. July 9 and 10 and 1 p.m. July 11. Call 737-0611.

Deco master

Centaur Galleries presents the works of Louis Icart, "The Master of Art Deco," today thru Aug. 31 in the upper level of the Fashion Show Mall, 3200 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The exhibit includes drawings, paintings, etchings, posters and books included. Call 737-0004.

Season tickets

The Reid Shelton Production Company is offering season subscriptions to its summer musical productions at the Rainbow Library Amphitheatre, Cheyenne Avenue and Buffalo Drive. Gospel music and stories

Radiant Faces, under the direction of James E. Britt, will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lied Discovery Children's Museum, 833 Las Vegas Blvd. North, as part of its Sunday music series featuring gospel music, storytelling and dance. Apprentices selected

Specialized knowledge and skills will be passed on to Las Vegas students during the next year with funding from the Folk Arts Apprenticeship Program at the Nevada Arts Council. Mohammed Darehbaghi will teach Siamak Darehbaghi Iranian painting; John Massie of California will teach Scottish bag piping to Joshua Underwood; and Zoria Zetaruk will teach Ukranian Easter egg decorating to Nicholas Yakowenko.
