PBA Seniors at Showboat

The Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Senior Tour returns to the Showboat hotel-casino Sunday through next Saturday for the 14th annual Showboat Senior Invitational, concluding the tour's summer season.

Tournament week begins with practice and pro-ams on Sunday. Qualifying and match play is set Monday-Thursday morning, with match play scheduled Thursday and Friday evening. The top five following match play will advance to the July 10 stepladder finals set for noon-1:30 p.m.

Top entrants include PBA Hall of Famers Dave Davis, Gary Dickinson, Mike Durbin, Larry Laub, George Pappas, Ernie Schlegel, Teata Semiz and Dave Soutar. Other standouts include Senior Player of the Year Pete Coutre, John Hricsina, Gene Stus, John Handegard, Dale Eagle and defending champ Don Helling.
