As it has been with every other holiday this year, Sunday marks the last Fourth of July celebration of the century.

So, continuing with 1999's prevailing theme, you may want to make this one count.

Consider pulling yourself away from the backyard feasts of hot dogs, potato salad and apple pie to take part in some of the Independence Day-themed activities -- and, of course, to watch the firework displays -- listed below, which will take place around the valley (as well as in nearby Pahrump and Mount Charleston) through Sunday.
