UTILITIES: Closed: Sprint, Southwest Gas, Nevada Power, Las Vegas Valley Water District, Cox Cable.
GOVERNMENT: Closed: Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, North Las Vegas, Clark County, state, courts, federal offices, federal courthouse.
SCHOOLS: Closed, no classes: Clark County School District's year-round schools and summer classes for Community College of Southern Nevada and UNLV.
MAIL: Closed, no deliveries: U.S. Postal Service (eight Post Office Express counters in Lucky grocery stores will be open) and United Parcel Service.
NEWSPAPER: Sun combined morning editions with Review-Journal. Sun offices closed.
TRANSIT: Downtown Transportation Center: Open. City Trolleys: Holiday schedule (two trolleys operating instead of three). Citizens Area Transit: Regular schedule (Sunday: holiday schedule, fewer buses operating on fixed routes).
LIBRARIES: Open: Las Vegas-Clark County District (will close Sunday which normally is a regular business day). Closed: Henderson District (also will close Sunday which normally is a regular business day), Boulder City Municipal, North Las Vegas District.
GARBAGE: Silver State Disposal pickups as usual.
MATRIMONY: Marriage License Bureau open 8 a.m. Friday to 12 a.m. Tuesday.
FINANCES: Closed: banks, brokerage firms.
ZOO: Open: Southern Nevada Zoological and Botanical Park.
PARKING: City parking metered spaces are free.
