Laurich Properties Inc. said it broke ground on three Las Vegas retail centers and is building seven such centers locally this year.
Laurich broke ground on a 108,000-square-foot "Big K" Kmart store at Buffalo Drive and Washington Avenue. The 153,000-square-foot, $8 million project will include space for additional shops, including a Trader Joe's. The project is expected to open by year's end.
The company also broke ground on Silverado Ranch Center, a development at Silverado Ranch Drive and Maryland Parkway. The center will be anchored by a Lucky market and a Sav-on drug store. The 105,000-square-foot, $13 million first phase is scheduled to open in January, with construction on the second phase starting in the summer of 2000.
Laurich also is building a Sav-on at Charleston Boulevard and Tonopah Avenue.
