Fremont Street: The Boogie Knights and Lil' Elmo and the Cosmos perform 7-10 p.m. today and Saturday on the First and Third Street stages. Admission is free. Call 678-5600.

Harrah's hotel-casino: A beach party will be held in the property's Carnaval Court daily through Sunday. Food and vendor kiosks open at noon; bands take the stage at 6:30 p.m.; live entertainment -- magicians, contortionists, musicians -- begins at 8 p.m. Admission is free. Call 369-5000.

Las Vegas Stars: The baseball team plays a pair of games against the Fresno Grizzlies at 7:05 p.m. today and Saturday at Cashman Field. Its wildly popular, annual fireworks display follows. Tickets are $10. Call 386-7200.

Summerlin Fourth of July Fest: The community's "Patriotic Parade" kicks off at 9 a.m. Saturday along flag-lined streets from Hillpointe and Hills Center, south to Trails Center Drive. Admission is free. Call 341-5500.

Saluting America's heroes: A performance by American Legion Post No. 8, the Military Band of Las Vegas and the Nellis Air Force Base Color Guard will be from 7-8 p.m. Saturday at the Tropicana hotel-casino. A military march, Dixieland Jazz and a musical tribute honoring America will be featured. Admission is free. Call 739-2783.

Mount Charleston Lodge: A barbecue will be hosted from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the lodge, atop the mountain on Highway 157. Pork ribs, chicken, hamburgers and hot dogs will be served. The cost is $12.95 for adults; $6.95 for children ages 12 and under. Call 872-5408.

Boulder City's Damboree: Two day's worth of activities begin 7 a.m. Saturday with a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Rotary club, followed at 9 a.m. by a parade, which begins at Colorado Street and continues west on Nevada Highway to Fifth Street before turning onto Avenue B and finishing near Central Park. Festivities at the park will include Color Guard presentations, live music and midway booths. On Sunday attention shifts to the old Boulder City Airport, where live music, food and drinks will be available starting at 6 p.m., followed by a fireworks display at 9 p.m. (see "Fireworks" listing). Party in Pahrump: The Pahrump Volunteer Firefighters Association presents its annual 4th of July celebration Saturday and Sunday at Petrack Park, Highway 160 and Basin Road. The Nye County Sheriff's office will square off against the Pahrump Fire Department in the annual grudge match softball game at 8 a.m. Saturday. A car show will follow from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. The annual "Un-horse Derby," sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday followed by fireworks at dusk (see "Fireworks" listing). Las Vegas Philharmonic: Crooner Robert Goulet will join the Las Vegas Philharmonic for a pair of performances this weekend, both to be introduced by new Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman. The first one will be at Sunset Station at 8 p.m. Saturday, followed by a fireworks display. The group will perform a patriotic song selection that will include "America, the Beautiful" and "1812 Overture." General admission is $19.99; VIP seating is $49.99. Call 474-4000. On Sunday, again joined by Goulet, the Philharmonic performs at 7:30 p.m. at Hills Park in Summerlin, with fireworks dotting the show. Clark County's "Red, White and Boom": Live music, water games and relays, a stunt kite exhibition and sports contests will take place 5:30-8 p.m. Sunday at Desert Breeze Park, 8425 Spring Mountain Road. Henderson happenings: The sixth annual 4th of July Celebration takes place 5-11 p.m. Sunday at Morrell Park, one block east of Boulder Highway and Major Avenue, in Henderson. Sun City MacDonald Ranch: The Desert Willows golf course's driving range, 2020 W. Horizon Ridge Pkwy., in Henderson, will be hopping starting at 7 p.m. Sunday with a performance by the Smith Brothers, followed by a fireworks display (see "Fireworks" listing). Nevada Symphony Orchestra: Face-painting, clowns and balloons will be among the pre-concert fun beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday when the orchestra presents "An American Salute," at Cashman Field Center, 850 Las Vegas Boulevard North. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.; a brief fireworks display will close the show. Tickets are $12 for adults (children under 12 are admitted free), and are available for purchase starting at noon on Sunday at the center's box office. Parking is $3. Call 792-4337.

Stratosphere hotel-casino: Singer Linda Perry, formerly of the band 4 Non Blondes, and the Leisure Lizards will provide the entertainment at a party from 2-10 p.m. Sunday in the property's north parking lot, followed by a fireworks display (see "Fireworks" listing). Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada: The group hosts a "celebration of freedom from workplace discrimination" 4 p.m.-midnight Sunday in the parking lot behind Keys Piano Bar, 1000 E. Sahara Ave. Guest speakers will include Sen. Richard Bryan and Rep. Shelley Berkley. Entertainment and carnival games will be provided, and there will be fireworks; refreshments will be available.
