Deputy will not be charged in accident

Lynch on Thursday said investigators cannot put former deputy Steven Bogenreif behind the wheel of the vehicle at the time of the crash.
She added that the victim, whose car was rear-ended at a stop light on Jan. 16, picked the wrong person out of a photo lineup.
Shortly after the accident, Reno police traced a license plate found at the scene to Bogenreif's truck, which had notable damage to the front end.
Bogenfeif was a probationary deputy who had been on the job for about a month. He was given a choice of resigning or being fired, and chose to resign.
Sheriff's Sergeant Bob Towery said the lack of charges does not mean Bogenreif will be rehired.
