Brief: Laughlin numbers were mixed in November

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority said Laughlin visitor volume fell 3 percent in November, from 330,666 in November 1997 to 320,783 in November 1998.
Visitor volumes for the 11-month period from January to November fell 5.3 percent, from 4.21 million in the 1997 period to 3.99 million in the same period of 1998.
But gross gaming revenues rose 6.1 percent in November, from $38.6 million in November 1997 to $40.9 million last November. Comparing the January to November periods, revenue rose 1.4 percent from $447.9 million to $454 million.
The Laughlin market has been hurt by Indian casinos in its Arizona and California feeder markets.
