The University of Nevada School of Medicine is accepting participants for a nationwide study of pregabilin -- a medication that may provide potential relief of symptoms for people suffering from chronic low-back pain.

To qualify for the study, a person must have low-back pain extending over a three-month period. Applicants cannot be involved in litigation or Worker's Compensation claims.

Free seminars planned at St. Rose Dominican

The St. Rose Dominican Women's CARE Center of Excellence is sponsoring free half-day seminars on alternatives to hysterectomies, headache management, hormones and stress.

Women's Wisdoms will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 30 at the center, 100 N. Green Valley Parkway.

Medical society to host annual fund-raiser

The Clark County Medical Society will have its annual fund-raising charity event at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Luxor.

The Prescription for Hope Charity Gala will benefit Family and Child Treatment of Southern Nevada, an area treatment center that helps children, adults and families deal with abuse, neglect and violence.
