Brief: Park Place sues Harrah’s
Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999 | 11:29 a.m.
Las Vegas-based Park Place owns the Atlantic City Hilton and Bally's Park Place. It objects to a deal in which Harrah's Atlantic City and its sister casino the Showboat are exclusively offering IGT's new Triple Play Joker Poker game.
"Bally believes that IGT's exclusive arrangement with Harrah's is an unlawful restraint of trade and amounts to unfair competition," Park Place attorney Bernard DeLury Jr. was quoted as saying by the Press of Atlantic City newspaper.
Park Place also took its petition to the state Casino Control Commission.
Harrah's spokesman Michael DiLeva told the Press that exclusive slot arrangements are customary in the industry.
