Two charged with assaulting teen they allegedly met on Internet

SPARKS, Nev. - Two men have been charged with sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl they allegedly met on the Internet and police were investigating Tuesday whether there could be other victims.
"I feel there could be" other victims, Sparks Police Detective Dave Adams said Tuesday. "That's why we've put out a request for anyone who has had contact with these guys to come forward."
Timothy Mobly, 25, and Aaron Cross, 25, allegedly assaulted the girl while they held her prisoner at Mobly's home in Sparks on Jan. 2, police said.
The girl "met Mobly on the Internet" and went to his house to visit him in person that afternoon, the police report said.
"During the course of the afternoon she was detained" by the two suspects and "reportedly sexually assaulted by both," police said.
Early the next morning, she was able to escape and seek help from neighbors. Mobly and Cross were arrested later that day at Mobly's home. Both were charged with sexual assault and false imprisonment.
"I'm hoping parents read this and tell their children they are vulnerable on the Internet," Adams said Tuesday.
Police were executing search warrants on the suspect's computers. Adams would not release any more details of how the girl met the men.
Adams said it was the first such case in the Reno-Sparks area where local police had enough evidence to arrest someone.
Last year, a New York City man pleaded guilty to two felonies after he flew to Las Vegas to engage in a sexual act with a 14-year-old boy.
