Las Vegas blackout on fight lifted
Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999 | 9:54 a.m.
The local blackout of Saturday's Mike Tyson vs. Frans Botha fight at the MGM Grand Garden has been lifted and the fight will now be available in Clark County on pay-per-view.
Orders can be placed with Cox Communications daily until 8 p.m. The fee is $45.95.
Lifting the blackout will also allow local casinos to show the fight on a closed-circuit basis. Several area casinos are planning private parties.
The blackout was lifted in spite of the fact the fight is not sold out.
Prior to the blackout being lifted Monday afternoon, the fight was not going to be available on pay-per-view anywhere in the county.
