Former constable has new job at exotic club

The former Las Vegas city councilman retired Dec. 31 and the next day was offered a job at the Olympic Garden.
Nolen said his wife, Cindy, said, "You bet, let's go" and his mother said, "You'd be crazy if you didn't."
"I have the blessing of my wife and my mother and that's cool," Nolen said Friday.
Nolen has battled with the state Ethics Commission, which first found him guilty of ethics violations, then backed off and settled with him after a District Court judge ruled the panel overstepped its bounds by fining him $5,000.
The Ethics Commission ruled Nolen wasn't doing his job because he wasn't always in the office, but the judge said it was up to the voters to decide whether an elected official wasn't doing his job.
One problem the Ethics Commission had with Nolen was that he sometimes went to the Olympic Garden during work hours.
Nolen said he was always available by cellular phone and had improved the efficiency of the constable's office despite not being there all the time.
