Brief: Gaming conference kicks off

Wynn and Kay Cole James of the National Gambling Impact Study Commission are to speak at the two-day event produced by Bear Stearns & Co., Lionel Sawyer & Collins and Casino Journal Publishing Group.

Other scheduled speakers include Harrah's Entertainment Inc. Chairman Phil Satre, American Gaming Association President Frank Fahrenkopf, Las Vegas Mayor Jan Laverty Jones and executives from more than a dozen gaming companies.

The event will also feature presentations by executives from real estate investment trusts and other lodging operators, as well as from ski resort, cruise line, motor speedway, theme park, golf and health and fitness companies.
