"Many of us in the Little River area were at first skeptical of a casino boat coming into our community. After only two months, however, the vast majority of our community is solidly in favor of this new attraction," chamber Executive Director Andrew Thielen wrote lawmakers.
The Sun News newspaper in Myrtle Beach reported Thielen is praising Victori Casino, a 110-foot gambling boat that arrived in South Carolina Nov. 2.
Besides hiring people and attracting tourists, the boat's owner has cleaned up the waterfront area where it's docked.
