President urges Miller to enter Senate race

"It's certainly encouraging and flattering to receive offers of support from the president," Miller said Thursday, adding that numerous other national-level callers also urged him to run.
"Certainly those things all weigh on the side of running for the office - but they're not in and of themselves the deciding factor," he said. "It has to work for me and my family in the long run."
Miller hopes to make a decision on seeking the seat being vacated by Sen. Dick Bryan, D-Nev., by late March.
He plans to talk with his two college-age children, Ross and Corrine, when they are home on spring breaks, as well as his youngest daughter, Megan, 9, who's still at home and would be the one most likely to be affected by a move to Washington.
Former Rep. John Ensign is the first Republican to say he is running for the seat. Rep. Jim Gibbons also is seen as a possible GOP contender. Other possible Democrats include Las Vegas Mayor Jan Jones and Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa.
