Man arrested for stabbing another in Douglas County
Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999 | 9:17 a.m.
Troy Noe Snyder, 21, is accused of stabbing Andrew Phillip Sullivan at the Indian Hills Food Mart near U.S. 395 and Mica Drive.
Sullivan, 28, was flown to Washoe Medical Center in Reno. He was listed in serious but stable condition with at least two stab wounds, one to the head and one to his abdomen, Douglas County sheriff's Sgt. Lance Modispacher said.
Both men are unemployed and live at the same apartment complex a block away from the scene of the stabbing, authorities said.
Snyder was arrested when officers stopped a car seen leaving the apartment complex shortly after the incident.
Modispacher said a female driver and male passenger in the front seat got out of the car without incident, but Snyder, who was in the back seat, took off running.
Snyder ran for about 50 yards before he was tackled by deputies and handcuffed after a brief scuffle, Modispacher said.
The knife believed to have been used in the stabbing was found by investigators in a nearby vacant lot.
Authorities have not released a possible motive for the attack.
