Letter: We’re all being contaminated for the sake of profits

We are bombarded with information to eat healthy by eating more fruits and vegetables and then told that they are not safe, especially for our children to eat due to pesticides. Our dairy, beef and poultry are shot full of hormones and antibiotics for the benefit of the all mighty dollar to be passed along to us at the grocery store. The accumulation of all these harmful additives and drugs are resulting in illnesses such as immune disorders, allergies, cancers, and so on.

Also on the news was the question of how safe our drinking water is. Even people with water purification systems may be getting water tainted with high levels of lead due to the lead found in the water spouts.

We are doomed unless people start watching out for others instead of the "bottom-line profits."
