Two casino firms sue jacket producer
Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999 | 9:58 a.m.
Par-A-Dice Gaming Corp., which operates the Par-A-Dice Riverboat Casino in East Peoria, Ill., and Treasure Chest LLC, which runs the Treasure Chest Casino in Kenner, La., filed suit in Clark County District Court against Empire Jackets Co. Inc., which attorneys said operated from 5025 S. Eastern Ave. No. 22.
According to the suit, Par-A-Dice paid an $8,750 deposit on 1,000 black silk jackets that were to have a casino logo on the front. Empire promised to deliver the jackets in time for 1996 Christmas sales.
Treasure Chest said it paid an $8,700 deposit on 1,000 black silk jackets with a logo to Empire and planned to take delivery in time for 1997 Christmas sales.
In both cases, Empire delivered fewer jackets than they agreed to, without a logo, and kept the entire deposit, the suits said.
Both Par-A-Dice and Treasure Chest are seeking to recover their deposit money and other damages.
The phone listing for Empire was disconnected and there was no listing for Empire President Dino Damelio.
