With public protests in mind, the Las Vegas City Council on Monday approved a northwest condominium project at a lower density than proposed.
Although Saxton Inc. originally requested a density of seven units per acre at Michael Way and Madre Mesa Way, neighbors whose homes exist on half-acre parcels objected to the proposal.
"I think we should keep this compatible," said resident Joe Kahout.
When the city Planning Commission heard the request, 278 people sent formal protests. The Planning Commission approved the proposal, but at a density of six units per acre.
