Erquiaga, 35, said he's looking forward to starting his new job March 15, adding, "As a native Nevadan and a father, preserving our state's cultural heritage is extremely important to me."
Erquiaga, currently marketing chief for the Howard Hughes Corp. in Las Vegas, spent six years as chief deputy in the secretary of state's office.
Secretary of State Dean Heller had recommended Erquiaga for the voter registrar's job in Clark County, but that's going to Larry Lomax, who has been assistant registrar under the outgoing Clark elections chief, Kathryn Ferguson.
