Replica of famous tower topped out

A giant crane was used to lift the final beam atop a half-size version of the Eiffel Tower.
The 50-story replica is to be a major attraction when the $760 million Paris-Las Vegas hotel-casino opens in September.
Mayor Jan Jones issued a proclamation naming Wednesday Eiffel Tower day in Las Vegas. She joined hotel President Paul Pusateri and French Counsel General Guy Yelda in toasting the latest tourist attraction.
The tower is 540 feet tall and weighs more than 5,000 tons. Three of its four legs spring from the hotel's casino floor.
The Parisian-themed property will re-create famous French landmarks including the Arc de Triomphe, the Paris Opera House and the Louvre.
