Few takers for free classes

The community college last month opened a satellite computer and classroom center on the Western campus.
The $5 million publicly-funded center is packed with 200 computers to be used by high school students in the mornings and college students in the afternoons and evenings.
College recruiters had hoped 100 of Western's 400 seniors would sign up for the free-class offer. But only 45 seniors cashed in on the one-class deal, which allows a head start on college.
