Top-Ranked UNLV Doubles Team Advances

DALLAS, Texas -- The UNLV doubles team of Nenad Zivkovic and Gregor Skorin, the top-ranked duo in the nation, won in three sets in the first round of the Rolex National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships Thursday.
The third leg of the Collegiate Grand Slam, hosted by SMU, is being held at the Brookhaven Country Club and features nine of college tennis top-10 doubles teams.
Zivkovic and Skorin, both sophomores from Belgrade, Serbia, defeated 22nd-ranked Ariel Rivero and Francisco Rodriguez of Alabama, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. The top-seeded duo will next take on Ed Dus and Luis Uribe of Kansas, who were 6-2, 6-4 first-round winners over Dustin Mauck and Keith Pollak of SMU.
