Robinson adds assistant coach

John Robinson added the eighth of nine assistants to his staff on Wednesday. And not surprisingly, this one also has strong ties to Robinson's USC coaching background.
Joe Hubbard, who helped oversee recruiting and football operations at USC under Robinson for five years (1993-97), will fill the same role at UNLV.
"He's a great off-the-field operations man," Robinson said. "We have to build ourselves into the front edge of recruiting."
"I'm really excited about the opportunity to work with Coach Robinson again at UNLV," Hubbard said.
Hubbard, a former cornerback at UCLA for Terry Donahue (1978-80), would have joined Robinson's staff sooner except he has been busy helping produce a one-hour TV pilot called "The Season" for ABC and Disney.
