Letter: Simple idea for budget surplus
Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999 | 10:12 a.m.
I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. Our government claims to have a surplus. It seems to me it borrowed from our Social Security fund and now it's time to pay it back.
Maybe our representatives should also pledge not to borrow from this account again since we are rapidly approaching the time in which most people will need these funds.
I know this is a difficult and complex economic concept to understand. If you need help, just ask my kids.
