Police find car, still seeking suspect in fatal hit-and-run

Metro Police are still searching for a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident Monday night, but they have located the suspect's car.

The car, found Tuesday, was impounded and is being processed by Metro's crime lab for possible clues to the identity of the suspect who hit a 47-year-old Las Vegas man walking on Rancho Drive north of Airport Drive at about 8:30 p.m.

Police believe the victim, who had been only tentatively identified this morning, was walking northbound in the parking lane when he was hit from behind by the car.

Anyone with information on the accident is asked to call Secret Witness at 385-5555 or the Metro accident investigation detail at 229-3535.
