Letter: Pools, cars, doctors are true killers

Guns kill fewer people than swimming pools in this country every year. The body count for swimming pools is approximately 10,000 people.
Guns kill fewer people than automobiles in this country every year. The body count for automobiles is approximately 50,000 people.
Guns kill fewer people than doctors in this country every year. The body count for doctors' mistakes is approximately 100,000 people.
If the motive of our political leaders who advocate restricting our right to bear arms is public safety, why don't they deal with swimming pools, automobiles and doctors first? They each kill more people every year than guns do, and none of them is a constitutionally protected right.
When you use this comparative analysis you see the objective is not public safety at all. It is a blatant attempt by our government to disarm the people of this country. If successful the end result will be the birth of tyranny in America.
