Daisy Cook
Daisy Cook, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 30, 1929, in Greenup, Ky. A resident for nine years, she was a retired electronics technician.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby; two sons, Bruce Cook of Las Vegas and Jim Cook of Shingle Springs, Calif.; one stepson, Glen Bentley of Meridian, Ind.; one brother, James Royster of Ohio; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. handled arrangements.
Roscoe Kent Fawcett
Roscoe Kent Fawcett, 86, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Brainerd, Minn. He was born Feb. 7, 1913, in St. Paul, Minn. He was the vice president and circulation manager for a magazine company, a World War II Army veteran, a flyer, world traveler and a big game hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Eilleene; three sons, Roscoe Jr. of Playa del Rey, Calif., Peter of Virginia Beach, Va., and Stephen of Darian, Conn.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
No local services scheduled. Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd, is handling arrangements.
Nadine G. Harrison
Nadine G. Harrison, 76, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 10, 1923, in Missouri. A resident for seven years, she was a retired retail sales clerk.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, two daughters, Linda Castillo and Joann Stumbo, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Wayne Gerard of Lebanon, Ore.; 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one-half hour prior to 1 p.m. graveside services Tuesday at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
Ilie 'Lil Bro' Jones
Ilie "Lil Bro" Jones, 47, of North Las Vegas died Monday. He was born Nov. 14, 1952, in Pelahatchi, Miss. A resident for 29 years, he was a pitcher for Silver State Disposal for six years and a member of the Teamsters Union.
He is survived by two daughters, Monica Jones and MarShanna Jones, both of Las Vegas; his mother, Margaret Jones, three sisters, Ilean Jones, Sylvia Proctor and Faye Weens, four brothers, Willie Jones, Ray Jones, Alan Jones and Joe Jones, all of Indianapolis; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services are scheduled 1 p.m. Tuesday in Palm, Downtown. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
Alexander 'Al' Kushner
Alexander "Al" Kushner, 81, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. He was born Oct. 28, 1918, in New Haven, Conn. A resident for seven years, he was a retired communications manager, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by one son, Alexander Kushner of Westlake Village, Calif.; one sister, Olga Piech of Florida; and three grandchildren.
Services are scheduled 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Paul the Apostle Orthodox Church. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
Edgar L. Larsen
Edgar L. Larsen, 68, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 3, 1931, in Minnesota. A resident for 11 years, he was a traffic transportation manager, a Marine Corps veteran and the president of the L.A. Traffic Club.
He is survived by his wife, Delores; two sons, James and William; two daughters, Sherri Goodson and Vicki Melvin; and 10 grandchildren.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North handled arrangements.
Jessica Ann Lisowski
Jessica Ann Lisowski, 2, of Henderson died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 14, 1997, in Las Vegas.
She is survived by her parents, James and Loretta Lisowski, two brothers, Matt Lisowski and Mark Lisowski, four sisters, Vickie Lisowski, Veronica Lisowski, Elizabeth Lisowski and Michelle Lisowski, all of Henderson; and her grandparents, Applonia Lisowski and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Raflik, all of Milwaukee.
Visitation is scheduled 3-5 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services are scheduled 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Cemetery.
Mary Louise Grasso Magnavita
Mary Louise Grasso Magnavita, 86, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. She was born March 14, 1913, Italy. A resident for 57 years, she was a retired beauty salon manager and a member of the Democratic Women's Association.
She is survived by several cousins.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 3 p.m. services Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park.
Victoria Jane McCullough
Victoria Jane McCullough, 36, of North Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 3, 1963, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 34 years, she was an ophthalmology technician.
She is survived by her husband, Kerry; two stepsons, Paul McCullough and Aaron McCullough, both of Las Vegas, her mother and stepfather, Linda and Leland Stapley of Elko; three sisters, Linda Giesler and Lesa Stapley, both of Las Vegas, and Leanne Carlson of Elko; one brother, Lee Stapley of Ammon, Ind.; and one brother-in-law, Chet Giesler of Las Vegas.
A memorial service is scheduled 2 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
John M. Ompad
John M. Ompad, 75, of Las Vegas died Dec. 18 in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 13, 1924, in Kahika, Hawaii. A resident for 20 years, he was a hotel chef.
He is survived by his wife, Nettie; three sons, Michael Bansuelo and Gregory Bansuelo, both of Los Angeles, and Cary Ompad of San Francisco; two daughters, Diane Ramos of Sacramento and Linnette Middleworth of Hawaii; one brother, Charles Bansuelo of Sacramento; one sister, Connie Tirono of Carlsbad, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Services are private. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.
Anthony R. Vitti
Anthony R. Vitti, 61, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 3, 1938, in New York City. A resident for 3 1/2 years, he was a uniforms manager for the Riviera hotel-casino.
He is survived by his wife, Diana, one son, Richard Vitti, one dauther, Lauren Googan, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Michelina Vitti, one brother, Leo Vitti, one sister, Gina Valenti, all of Bronx, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.
Mass was scheduled 9:30 a.m today in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2121 Western Ave., Suite A-3 handled arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Lois E. Zusman
Lois E. Zusman, 72, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 6, 1927, in Kearney, Neb. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Alan Bowden of Las Vegas; two daughters, Mary Ann Bowden of Las Vegas and Barbara Holcomb of Topeka, Kan.; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Walker of Waynesboro, Pa; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
