Gambler at MotorCity casino wins $1 million at video poker

The man, who asked the casino not to use his name, will get $50,000 annual installments for 20 years. He got his first payment on the spot Thursday, MotorCity said in a news release.

The MotorCity Casino will randomly select a millionaire about once a month using its slot machine bonus system, said Craig Ghelfi, the casino's vice president and general manager.

All 2,600 slot machines throughout the casino are part of the system. Every coin that goes into a slot machine is eligible to win.

"You don't have to get three sevens or three triple bars. It truly is just a lucky coin," he said.

At the MGM Grand Detroit Casino, several people have won more than $100,000, but no one has won $1 million, spokesman Bob Berg told the Detroit Free Press.
