CASTRIES, St. Lucia -- St. Lucia's tourism minister said the government will present a measure to legalize casino gambling to the parliament next month.
The government has approved a casino license -- pending approval of the casino measure -- for the new $54 million, 300-room Hyatt Regency Hotel, to open next month, Tourism Minister Philip Pierre announced Tuesday.
The hotel is being constructed with space for a casino despite the island's ban on gambling.
