Shaen Gresham, who is serving an unrelated prison sentence in California, faces a maximum of 15 years in prison. He will be sentenced Feb. 9.
Michigan resident Vicki Anderson, 55, was walking across the Strip near the Bellagio resort when she was struck by a speeding car Oct. 9, 1997.
The vehicle sped away and was later traced to a friend of Gresham.
Gresham was indicted by a grand jury in the fatal accident. Chief Deputy District Attorney Gary Booker said Gresham had two prior driving under the influence convictions in California.
Gresham was released on $100,000 bond in February 1998. Later that year he was arrested on a drug charge in California and sentenced to four years and four months in prison, Booker said.
