The body of David Bourke, 36, was found in the southbound lane of the freeway near Centerville shortly before 9:30 a.m. Wednesday by a passing motorist, said Centerville police Sgt. Von Steemblik.
"The medical examiner said it could have been self-inflicted or someone could have stabbed him," said Steemblik.
Police said the man left his Las Vegas home at 1:30 a.m. and told his girlfriend he needed some cigarettes. Family members said he was not suicidal and he had no family members or friends in Utah.
There was no evidence of a struggle, Steemblik said.
