Drunken-driving investigation still active

Police said Bryce A. Poe was strapped into the back seat of his mother's car when the accident occurred Saturday in southeast Reno. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Washoe Medical Center.
A customer at a nearby convenience store saw the other motorist flee, but chased him down, returned him to the accident scene and held him until police arrived.
Gerard Vasquez-Peregrina also was booked into jail on suspicion of hit-and-run and reckless driving.
"We're eternally thankful to the gentleman who held (the suspect) for us," said police Officer Shawn McMenomy.
Both vehicles were in the intersection of Peckham Lane and Neil Road at the same time, but it was unclear which driver had the right of way, he said.
