Letter: Columnist is right; Kosovo strategy is not working

Anybody willing to look past the political spin would have concluded the Serbs and Albanians would not live in peace. The plan costing the least money and lives would have been to resettle the Albanians in Albania. The Pentagon and several other think tanks came to that conclusion before our bombing. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright ordered such reports covered up.

Political bigots charged that anybody questioning President Clinton's war was an unpatriotic Clinton hater. Now the ethnic cleansing continues, with 200,000 Serbs faced with the choice of fleeing or dying. Not soldiers, civilians. The elderly are the choice target of Albanian mobs.

Staunchly following political party spin is how the Nazis created the Holocaust. God gave people more brains than a sheep. Please, people, please use those brains. When you don't, innocent people die.
