The Las Vegas office of the Money Store will survive a national cutback by parent company First Union Corp., a company spokesman said Thursday.
The office, a sales and loan processing center, currently employs four people. The loan processing function will be phased out, but a reduction in office size isn't expected, said First Union spokesman Anthony Hoppa.
"In all likelihood that office will be expanded," Hoppa said.
The office will become the Money Store's only office in Nevada; Hoppa said the company plans to shut down its four-employee Reno office. All loan processing is being consolidated into offices in Sacramento and Pennington, N.J.
