Mark David Augustin

Mark David Augustin, 28, of Henderson died Nov. 30 in Henderson. He was born May 9, 1971, in Nebraska. A resident for many years, he was a pharmacist.

He is survived by his father, Gary Augustin of Nebraska.

Donald E. Baca

Donald E. Baca, 42, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 4, 1957, in Kingman, Ariz. A resident for four years, he was a retired bank teller and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his parents, Dolores and Frank Baca of Henderson; two sisters, Marcella Bloomfield of Middletown, N.Y., and Nancy Finklea of Chicago; and one brother, David E. Baca of Henderson.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Pauline Barlow

Pauline Barlow, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 18, 1924, in Lorena, Okla. A resident for 55 years, she was a retired casino hostess and a member of Beta Sigma Phi for 42 years.

She is survived by one son, Gary Barlow of Las Vegas; one daughter, Bonnie Koller of Duck Creek Village, Utah; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

William Bednar

William Bednar, 87, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 25, 1912, in Dexter, Texas. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired real estate broker/salesman, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Masons, Shriners, Scottish Rite Bodies and Eastern Star.

He is survived by his wife, Esther; two daughters, Jayne Kuntz of Rancho Murrieta, Calif., and Patricia Van Gundy of Las Vegas; one brother, Chaney Bednar of Dallas; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until noon services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Harold 'Sam' Buterbaugh

Harold "Sam" Buterbaugh, 65, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 5, 1934, in Missouri. A resident for 13 years, he was a truck driver and an Army and Coast Guard veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; three sons, Bill Buterbaugh of California and Craig Buterbaugh and Steven Buterbaugh, both of Nevada; one sister, Velma Showalter of Missouri; and one grandchild.

Graveside services will be 12:40 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Howard John Butler

Howard John Butler, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 14, 1924, in New York. A resident for 3 1/2 years, he was a New York City detective, an Army veteran, a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; one brother, John Butler; and one sister, Ann Barbara.

Shirley Lee Curtis

Shirley Lee Curtis, 42, of Boulder City died Saturday in Boulder City. She was born March 12, 1956, in California. A resident for 21 years, she was a insurance claims adjuster.

She is survived by her husband, M. Wayne Curtis, one son, Bobby Lee Curtis, and one daughter, Robyn Lee Curtis, all of Boulder City.

Freeman M. Dishman

Freeman M. Dishman, 72, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born March 24, 1927, in Kansas. A resident for 31 years, he was a retired Checker and Ace taxicab driver of 23 years.

He is survived by his wife, Jessie; two daughters, Pam Finch and Becky Cox, both of Indiana; one sister, Jane Northrup, and one brother, Wayne Dishman, both of Kansas.

Visitation is scheduled 30 minutes prior to 11 a.m. services Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Eddie V. Edgerly

Eddie V. Edgerly, 72, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 16, 1927, in Fifield, Wis. A resident for one year, he was a retired truck driver, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, a member of the Order of the Eagles Aerie 2229 and American Legion Malcolm Crabtree Post 0050, both in Toppenish, Wash., the Veterans of Foreign Wars and National Rifle Association.

He is survived by one daughter, Vicki L. Stratton of Las Vegas; one brother, Jerry Edgerly, and three sisters, Lorraine Williams, Geraldine Hall and Joanne Pierce, all of Washington state; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Robert S. Eells

Robert S. Eells, 67, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born July 12, 1932, in Philadelphia. A resident for nine years, he was a retired waiter and a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Lisa Schultz, and two sons, James Eells and Christopher Eells, all of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Annie S. Ellsworth

Annie S. Ellsworth, 99, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born June 9, 1900, in Louisiana. A resident for 16 years, she was self-employed in the real estate industry.

She is survived by one daughter, Montez Martin of Las Vegas; one sister, Dorcas Wilturner of California; eight grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-noon Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Arlie L. Evans

Arlie L. Evans, 63, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born July 6, 1936, in San Diego. A resident for 45 years, he was an auto mechanic and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Darla; one son, Charles Robert Evans, and one daughter, Traci Escobedo, both of Las Vegas; his mother, Eldorado Evans, and one brother, Howard Eugene Evans, both of Cove, Ore.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-6 p.m. Thursday with services following at 6:30 p.m. in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Ruth A. Fritzsche

Ruth A. Fritzsche, 67, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 17, 1932, in Tippecanoe Township, Ind. A resident for 35 years, she was a retired hotel garde-manger.

She is survived by her husband, Allen E.; three daughters, Robin Post, Jan Chism and Lisa Fritzsche, and one son, Bryan Chism, all of Las Vegas; her mother, Martha Post, and one brother, Ron Taylor, both of New Troy, Mich.; one sister, Blanche Krieger of Sawyer, Mich.; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Redrock Baptist Church, 5500 Alta Drive. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

Francisco Hernandez Jr.

Francisco Hernandez Jr., 35, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 9, 1964, in Mexico. A resident for three years, he was an iron welder.

He is survived by his parents, Casimira and Francisco Hernandez Sr., and eight sisters, Teresa Hernandez, Rosa Maria Hernandez, Maria J. Hernandez, Margarita Hernandez, Maria Elana Hernandez, Graciela Hernandez, Angelica Hernandez and Maria Del Rosario Hernandez, all of Mexico; and two brothers, Jose Hernandez and Luis Hernandez, both of Las Vegas.

Shontrell Sheree Jamerson

Shontrell Sheree Jamerson, 11 1/2 months, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 12, 1998, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her father, Tremayne Jamerson, and her mother, Shonte Foster, both of Las Vegas; her grandparents, Kendra Brian Lee of Las Vegas and Gertrude and Bill Jamerson, all of California; and her great-grandparents, Alice Dickerson of Las Vegas and Oversa Singleton of California.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Sherry Ann Kahalehoe

Sherry Ann Kahalehoe, 31, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 17, 1968, in Honolulu. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Rudy Mark Mohika Jr., and her parents, Lenora and Reginald Joseph Brown, all of Las Vegas.

James Patrick McCarthy

James Patrick McCarthy, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 29, 1912, in Iowa. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired police officer.

He is survived by one son, Richard McCarthy of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Shirley L. Parrott

Shirley L. Parrott, 71, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, died Monday in Fort Dodge. She was born Feb. 21, 1928, in Fort Dodge. A former Henderson resident from 1966 to 1991, she was a former employee of the Eldorado Casino.

She was preceded in death by one great-grandson.

She is survived by her husband, Bernard; three daughters, Terry Schoon and Donna Nelson, both of Henderson and Vicki Church of Fort Dodge; one son, Danny Parrott of Henderson; one sister, Lillian Nekvinda of Fort Dodge; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 2 p.m. services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Entombment will follow in Palm Mausoleum.

Martha Peterson

Martha Peterson, 88, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. A hotel banquet waitress, she was born March 23, 1911, in Pennsylvania.

She is survived by one niece, Lois Carroll of Florida.

Robert Thomas Riley

Robert Thomas Riley, 96, of Boulder City died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 1, 1903, in Springfield, Ill. A resident for 16 years, he was a custodian for 30 years at Unity Church.

He is survived by one brother, Clifford Riley; one daughter; and one grandchild.

Manuel Antonio Sandoval Sr.

Manuel Antonio Sandoval Sr., 51, of Las Vegas died Oct. 25 in Las Vegas. A resident for many years, he was born July 11, 1948, in Guatemala.

Lonnie Session, 84, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 2, 1915, in Texas. A resident for 36 years, he was a Tropicana hotel-casino porter for more than 20 years.

He is survived by one sister, Gustava Stewart of California.

Louis Silvagni

Louis Silvagni, 60, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born March 3, 1919, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, he was a maintenance man for an apartment complex and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Louis A. Silvagni of North Las Vegas; one daughter, Paula Engleston of Las Vegas; four granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.

Spike M. Tippetts

Spike M. Tippetts, 66, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. He was born Aug. 23, 1933, in Idaho. A resident for 49 years, he was an automotive salesman.

He is survived by one son, Todd Tippetts, and one daughter, Sandy Tippetts, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Jesse Tippetts and Butch Tippetts, both of Henderson; three sisters, Mary Minor and Heroine Swearingen, both of California, and Ruth Murtens of Oregon; and one grandchild.

Services will be 6 p.m. Thursday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson.

Gary E. Tyler

Gary E. Tyler, 22, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 26, 1977, in Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho. A resident for 15 years, he was a carpenter.

He is survived by his mother, Prsoet Whitener of Las Vegas; his father, Gary E. Tyler of New Castle, Del.; two sisters, Tresa Villarreal of Las Vegas and Marcia Tyler of New Castle; two brothers, Todd Meyers of Chicago and Jesse Tyler of New Castle; and his grandparents, Som and Phil Topidit of Thailand and Grandma Tyler of New Castle.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be noon Thursday in Palm Chapel, Main.

Benjamin Wilson

Benjamin Wilson, 59, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 12, 1940, in Camila, Ga. A resident for 30 years, he was a senior medical technologist and a former president of Bonanza Village Association.

He is survived by his companion, Janet Hopper of Las Vegas; 10 children; his mother, Lessie Wilson-Prude of Chebanse, Ill.; one sister, Ernestine Tharpe of Las Vegas; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
