The cost of living rose 0.5 percent in November in the Las Vegas area, marking the fifth consecutive month of local increases, First Security Bank reported.
The bank, which tracks local prices, said prices fell for clothing, housing and eating out -- but these declines were offset by increases for transportation, health care and groceries.
Transportation costs alone jumped 6.8 percent in one month and are up 9.2 percent in Las Vegas over the past six months, First Security said.
