How many cookbooks make enough? For culinary enthusiasts the number is endless. That's just one of the reasons why cookbooks make wonderful gifts. They come in all sizes from stocking stuffers to the size known as "coffee table."
Whatever the size, buy the right book for the culinary skill level of the recipient, unless of course it's one of those irresistible volumes that are more for looking than cooking.
If you're not certain whether or not a cookbook will suit your needs or those of the recipient, take the time to carefully look through the book. In these days of enlightened bookstores, most have chairs and tables where you can sit comfortably while going through a pile of books before making a decision:
