Warrant served to suspect in Nevada killing
Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999 | 8:49 a.m.
Margaret Rudin, 56, is accused of killing her husband, Realtor Ron Rudin, by shooting him several times in the head as he lay in bed Dec. 18, 1994. She reported him missing, and a month later a fisherman discovered his burned, bullet-ridden and decapitated body near Lake Mohave in southern Nevada.
She vanished shortly after her indictment in the killing in 1997.
She was arrested last month at an apartment in Revere, where authorities said she had been living for about a year.
The governor's warrant, signed by the governors of Nevada and Massachusetts, seeks to return Rudin to Nevada to face prosecution. She has until next month to appeal the warrant, said Anson Kaye, a spokesman for Middlesex District Attorney Martha Coakley.
Her lawyer did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
Another pre-trial conference was scheduled for Jan. 4.
