Vergil G. Asuncion
Vergil G. Asuncion, 41, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born June 10, 1958, in the Philippines. A resident for two years, he was a card dealer at a local casino.
He is survived by one son, Ghilson Asuncion, and one daughter, Gilsa Asuncion, both of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; his parents, Felipe and Esmenia of Los Angeles; and one sister, Adelaida Asuncion of West Covina, Calif.
No local services are scheduled. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
David Blain Beebe
David Blain Beebe, 52, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born July 26, 1947, in Tooele, Utah. A resident for 48 years, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for the county highway department and a former member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; one daughter, Lori Jo Beebe, one son, Jason Beebe, his parents, Blain and Maribelle Beebe, and one brother, Gerald Beebe, all of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Judy and Janene, both of Utah.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
The family suggests donations to the American Lung Association, 3375 Glen Ave., No. 7, Las Vegas, NV 89121.
Bill Craig
Bill Craig, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born April 29, 1923, in Indianapolis. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired letter carrier, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the 63rd Division Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma; one daughter, Kathy Vincent of Tigard, Ore.; two sisters, Patty Spiff of Nashville, Tenn., and Betty Hart of Murphysboro, Ill.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
John Louis Eliopulos
John Louis Eliopulos, 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born May 27, 1923, in Grand Junction, Colo. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired business manager, a World War II Marine Corps veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Boise, Idaho and Grand Junction, Colo.
He is survived by his wife, Goldie; one son, Louis John Eliopulos, one daughter, Tina Eliopulos, and one son-in-law, Todd S. Moffett, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Gus Eliopulos of Denver; three sisters, Demetra Johnson of Rifle, Colo., Artie Parr of Meeker, Colo., and Katherine Peroulis of Craig, Colo.; and one granddaughter, Madelynne Crisi Moffett of Las Vegas.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Gottfried H. Ertel
Gottfried H. Ertel, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 29, 1924, in Crystal, N.D. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired stone mason and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Ertel and Eileen Ertel, both of Las Vegas, and Loretta Swisher of Newell, W.Va.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Morrie Garrish
Morrie Garrish, 63, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. He was born Oct. 12, 1936, in Chicago. A resident for 19 years, he was a railroad freight conductor and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine; two daughters, Lucille Garrish of Lakewood, Calif., and Margaret Timmons of Bellflower, Calif.; and one grandchild.
Graveside services were scheduled today at 10 a.m. in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.
Rosetta L. Gray
Rosetta L. Gray, 46, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born May 20, 1953, in Florida. A resident for seven years, she was a real estate accountant.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur; two sons, Rick Gray of Las Vegas and Nick Gray of San Diego; two brothers, Charles Wiggins and Danny Wiggins, both of Florida; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. A private burial will follow.
Terry Garber
Terry Garber, 80, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 13, 1919, in New York. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Sidney; one daughter, Francine Feingold of Las Vegas; two sisters, Ruth Kraus of Las Vegas and Shirley Sorkin of New York; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services were scheduled at 9:30 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, handled arrangements.
Timothy D. 'Hollywood' Highsaw
Timothy D. 'Hollywood' Highsaw, 41, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born July 23, 1958, in Indianapolis. A resident for 26 years, he was an apartment maintenance worker.
He is survived by three sons, Travis Henderson of Utah and Lamar Henderson and Brandon Henderson, both of Los Angeles; one daughter, Aurion Ward, and his mother, Verline Henderson, both of Las Vegas; his father, James Highsaw of St. Louis; five sisters, Sherline Woods of Detroit, Annie Walker and Jean James, both of Auburn, Ala., Adrine Duncan of North Las Vegas and Jacqueline Dumes of Las Vegas; and three brothers, Marvin Henderson of Las Vegas, David Henderson of Reno and Lamont Dumes of Phoenix.
Graveside services were scheduled at noon today in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., handled arrangements.
Bill G. Howard
Bill G. Howard, 75, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 14, 1924, in Detroit. A resident for six years, he worked in public relations for American Shooters Supply of Las Vegas and was a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Melba; one daughter, Sheryl Wilson of Victorville, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Kristin Bengtson of Palm Springs, Calif.; four sisters, Trudy Kareus of East Pointe, Mich., Dorothy Irving of Sun City, Ariz., Maxine Pieschke of Travis City, Mich., and Notie Honeycutt of Lexington, N.C.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling private arrangements.
Erica Lynn Hummel
Erica Lynn Hummel, 23, of Henderson died Sunday. She was born Nov. 8, 1976, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 20 years, she was a customer service representative in the banking industry.
She is survived by her fiance, Robert Aguilar, her parents, Arlene and John Hummel, and one brother, Evan Hummel, all of Henderson; and her grandparents, Edward and Irene Borowiak of Henderson and Raymond and Dorothy Hummel of Hamburg, N.Y.
Visitation is scheduled 3-8 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Sadie Kalling
Sadie Kalling, 91, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 30, 1907, in New York City. A resident for 35 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, David Kalling of Niles, Mich., and Bernie Kalling of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
Robert L. Kimball
Robert L. Kimball, 63, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born July 21, 1936, in Vermont. A resident for 10 years, he was a kitchen worker and a former member of the Culinary Union.
He is survived by his wife, Connie W.; two sons, James E. Little and Phil R. Kimball, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Freida Leroy of Bradford, Mass.

Gloria A. Kinsinger
Gloria A. Kinsinger, 71, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. She was born May 27, 1928, in Decatur, Ill. A resident for four years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, David W.; five daughters, Bette Hale and Terri Griffen, both of Chico, Calif., Linda Wright of Decatur, Ill., Kathy Kinsinger of Las Vegas and Sandy Kirby of Inglewood, Ohio; two sons, Rick Tolly of Anaheim, Calif., and David Kinsinger of Inglewood, Ohio; one sister, Mary K. Burgener of Moweaqua, Ill.; four brothers, James H. Porter of Albuquerque, N.M., Daniel Porter of San Diego, Fr. Robert Porter of Bunker Hill, Ill., and Victor L. Porter of Terre Haute, Ind.; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Noriko Kope
Noriko Kope, 60, of Las Vegas died Nov. 29 in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 13, 1939, in Okinawa, Japan. A resident for four years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Harold; one daughter, Ruth Montgomery of Louisiana; one brother, Teliki Hokama, and two sisters, Fusako Kawakmi and Yoko Hokama, all of Okinawa; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. services Wednesday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. A private burial will follow.
Leroy A. Lamb Jr.
Leroy A. Lamb Jr., 69, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 18, 1930, in Manchester, Conn. A resident for 28 years, he was a retired U.S. Defense Department officer, a former Air Force major and Korean War and Vietnam War veteran and a 1955 Naval Academy graduate.
He is survived by his wife, Helge; three sons, Marc Lamb of Lake Tahoe, Calif., Paul Lamb of Houston and Kai Lamb of Las Vegas; three sisters, Prudence Kelln of Alexandria, Va., Barbara Christensen of Schenectady, N.Y., and Diane Lamb of Groton, Conn.; and three grandchildren.

Logan LeBaron
Logan LeBaron died Monday, his date of birth, in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 6, 1999.
He is survived by his parents, Benjamin and Melissa LeBaron, and one brother, Issac LeBaron, all of Las Vegas; his grandparents, Doug and Annette LeBaron of Orofino, Idaho, and Eugene and Frances Spendlove of Las Vegas; and his great-grandparents, Glenna Rae LeBaron of North Las Vegas, Rex and Edith Christensen of Blackfoot, Idaho, and Nellie Cox of Washington, Utah.

David William Sloman
David William Sloman, 41, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 27, 1957, in Nevada. A lifelong resident, he was a carpenter and a member of Carpenters Local 1977.
He is survived by two daughters, Brittney and Lauren; one brother, Dennis Jensen; and one sister, Kitty Pickett.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Frank J. Szabo Sr.
Frank J. Szabo Sr., 84, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. He was born Oct. 22, 1915, in Chicago. A resident for 21 years, he was a retired carpenter for the railroad and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; one daughter, Julie Ann Capriola, and one son, Frank Szabo Jr., both of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Gary Lee Torbeck, 48, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 23, 1951, in Milwaukee. A resident for 16 years, he was a dealer at the Santa Fe hotel-casino for eight years and a founding member of the Superbird Club of America.
He is survived by two daughters, Wendy R. Lainling of North Las Vegas and Lori L. Torbeck of Las Vegas; one son, Shaun M. Torbeck of Las Vegas; one brother, Dennis Torbeck of Milwaukee; and six grandchildren.

Clemente Vargas Jr.
Clemente Vargas Jr., 57, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 11, 1942, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired casino porter, a Vietnam War Army veteran, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Senior Friends.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys; two daughters, Gladys Alemar and Arlene Crespo, and one son, Clemente Vargas III, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Consuelo Vargas of Pompano Beach, Fla.; four sisters, Kathleen Gonzalez of Pompano Beach, Mary Colon of Brooklyn, N.Y., Aida Lopez of Maspeth, N.Y., and Consuelo Mercado of Toa Baja, Puerto Rico; one brother, Lincoln Vargas of Maspeth; and 10 grandchildren.

Betty Jane Vogel, 65, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 25, 1934, in Wisconsin. A resident for five years, she was a leading bank supervisor.
She is survived by one son, Craig Vogel of Riverside, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Lena M. Zeek
Lena M. Zeek, 96, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 28, 1902, in Elgin, Ore. A resident for three years, she was a retired manager of retail apparel and a member of Oddfellows.
She is survived by one son, Ernest Zeek of Las Vegas; one brother, Carl Gilmore of San Jose, Calif.; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
