Hogan, Huddleston tie in steer wrestling

Hagan, of Leesville, La., who entered the NFR in third place in the world standings, moved into the lead with his $11,555 payoff.
Huddleston, of McAlester, Okla., came into the NFR in the 15th and final position, moved into 11th place.
"I was really pleased with my time," Hagan said. "But you just have to worry about yourself because you don't know what anybody else is going to do."
Huddleston took the 15th position by only $64 after competing in four rodeos in a seven-day span the last week of the season.
"It's all up for grabs," said Huddleston, who trails Hagan by $20,521 with seven rounds remaining. "There's so much money to be won here, it won't be decided until the ninth or 10th round."
Mickey Gee of Wichita Falls, Texas, was third in 3.6 seconds.
In saddle bronc riding, Billy Etbauer of Ree Heights, S.D., set an arena record with a 90-point ride. Ryan Mapston of Geyser, Mont., was second with an 87, and defending world champion Dan Mortensen of Manhattan, Mont., was third with an 86.
Only two bull riders had a qualifying ride. Royd Doyl of Pittsburg, Texas, won the round with an 86. Josh O'Byrne of Glenrose, Texas, was second with an 83.
In bareback riding, Lan Lajeunesse of Morgan, Utah, won with an 85. Jason Wylie of Rosebud, Ark., was second with an 84, and Clint Corey of Powell Butte, Ore., and Chad Klein of Jackson, La., tied for third with 81s.
Defending world champion Cody Ohl of Orchard, Texas, won for the second straight night in calf roping with a 7.2-second run. Justin Maass of Giddings, Texas, was second in 7.5 seconds, and Jeff Chapman of Athens, Texas, was third in 7.6.
In team roping, Richard Eiguren of Jordan Valley, Ore., and Bucky Campbell of Prosser, Wash., won the round with a 4.5-second run. Matt Tyler of Weatherford, Texas, and Kory Koontz of Sudan, Texas, tied for second at 4.6 seconds with Charles Pogue of Ringling, Okla., and Britt Bockius of Claremore, Okla.
World leader Sherry Cervi of Midland, Texas, won the barrel racing with a 13.98-second run. Kay Blandford of Sutherland Springs, Texas, was second in 14.17 seconds, and Ruth Haislip of Acampo, Calif., was third in 14.20 seconds.
