LAKE MEAD: Fishing has improved during the past two weeks and anglers are now catching striped bass from the lake's surface outside of Las Vegas Bay. Drifting in deep water with anchovies is also catching fish in that part of the lake.
Areas that have been productive for anglers in recent days are the causeway at Lake Mead Marina, deep water from Pyramid Island to the Hemenway Wall and Black Island.
LAKE MOHAVE: Fishing hasn't changed during the past two weeks as boaters are still catching striped bass from Owl's Point to Arizona Bay. The fish range from 10 to 14 inches. Fishing has been poor for stripers below Cottonwood Cove.
WAYNE E. KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA: A weekend largemouth bass fishing tournament attracted 20 anglers who caught 75 bass over two days. The largest fish taken was a 20-inch bass that weighed 6 1/2 pounds, caught at Haymeadow Reservoir.
EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR: Weeds growing in the lake have become a problem, particularly for those fishing from shore. Trout fishing has been slow.
ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR: The onset of weed growth in the lake has made for difficult fishing conditions.
