An advertising company that has been in business in Las Vegas for 12 years filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
Sidra Kain, doing business as Sidra Kain Advertising & Public Relations, and Aaron B. Kain filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Las Vegas, listing assets of $199,216 and liabilities of $489,085.
Kain said today she closed the business over the past two months and seven employees lost their jobs.
When the agency's largest clients, Toronto-based CashCode and JVL, decided to do their own public relations late last year, Kain said the company's finances slipped.
The company reported $3.5 million in gross billings in 1997 and some of the company's other top clients were Spartan Health Foods, MegaSports, Leroy's and Realty America.
Among the company's creditors are 16 radio stations that say they are owed more than $62,000, several television stations and a cable operation that are owed more than $58,000 and billboard advertising companies that list claims of more than $52,000.
The court filing also says the Internal Revenue Service has a disputed claim of $42,000.
