Letter: Democrats fudge Reagan’s numbers

Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999 | 9:39 a.m.

Final budgets numbers can be found in any library reference section. Complete presidential budget proposals, per year, are in the UNLV library government section under Budget of United States Government, Executive Office of the President, Office of Management and Budget.

After adding all of President Reagan's and Congress' budgets together for the Reagan years, the final total was that the Democratic Congress spent $249 billion more than President Reagan proposed. Also, President Reagan's budget was lower than Congress' every single year. Who pawned America's future in the 1980s?

I do not fault most individual Democrats. Most are well intentioned and are just repeating rumors or political propaganda they were told. I do blame the Democratic Party leaders who knowingly create false rumors to manipulate people.

The national Democratic Party will say anything to protect its power and cover up the truth, or have you not noticed that yet?
