Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999 | 4:11 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol said the victim was a passenger in a motor home that was struck Saturday by an oncoming car driven by Elaine Anthony, 67, of Oakland, Calif.
The victim's name wasn't immediately released.
The CHP said the chain reaction crash started when Anthony's car swerved into the path of the motor home, injuring her and the other driver.
Two cars following them then swerved to avoid the accident and collided head on, the CHP said. Two occupants in one of the cars were injured.
The injured were taken to Tahoe Forest Hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.
The accident is under investigation.
