Theme park reports loss for second quarter

All-American SportPark Inc. of Las Vegas reported a net loss of $938,000, or 31 cents per share, for the second quarter. That's down from net income of $601,000, or 20 cents per share, for the year-ago quarter.
All-American said its year-ago profit was the result of a $1.64 million gain from the sale of its interest of All-America Golf in May 1998. It said this quarter's losses were the result of interest and depreciation costs, and increasing costs from a marketing program designed to increase business at its Las Vegas All-American SportPark.
Revenues for the quarter were $1.95 million, up from $243,000 in the year-ago quarter. Sales have risen 26.5 percent since the first quarter, the company said. The Las Vegas SportPark reported revenue of $1.42 million, up 34.9 percent from three months ago.
All-American is the owner of the All-American SportPark, a 65-acre sports-oriented theme park located on the south end of the Strip.
