Shirley H. Albury

Shirley H. Albury, 59, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 27, 1940, in Blackburn, England. A resident for 34 years, she was a real estate saleswoman.

She is survived by one sister, Josie Banks of Rishton, England.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

The family suggests donations to Abandoned Animals, Animal Kingdom Veterinary Hospital, 735-7184.

Clyde Keith Bevan

Clyde Keith Bevan, 91, of Boulder City died Friday in a local hospital. He was born April 24, 1908, in Lost Springs, Kan. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired railroad signal maintainer. He received his 60-year pin for membership in the Masons and Scottish Rite Bodies and was also a member of the Shriners.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella; one son, Jerry; three sisters; and two brothers.

He is survived by one son, Velber Bevan of Hillsboro, Kan.; one sister, Velva Smith of Wichita, Kan.; two brothers, Wayne Bevan of Boulder City and Russell Bevan of Loves Park, Ill.; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 10 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

The family suggests donations to the Senior Center at the First Baptist Church, Boulder City.

John D. Blakemore

John D. Blakemore, 60, of Las Vegas died Aug. 8 in a local hospice. He was born Nov. 5, 1938, in Reno. A resident for 38 years, he was a hotel porter.

He is survived by one brother, Carl Reno Cragun of Overton; and one sister, Etta Aseph of Las Vegas.

American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling private arrangements.

Carol A. Bolong

Carol A. Bolong, 62, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 2, 1936, in New Jersey. A resident for seven years, she was a homemaker.

Graveside services were scheduled at noon today in Woodlawn Cemetery. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

Charles L. Burris

Charles L. Burris, 46, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in North Las Vegas. He was born April 9, 1953, in Indiana. A resident for 14 years, he was a roofer and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah; one son, Curtis Toler of Florida; two daughters, Deana Hagedorn of Las Vegas and Rena White of Idaho; and one sister, Karen Burris of Lawrenceville, Ill.

No local services are scheduled. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Nicholas A. Carrico

Nicholas A. Carrico, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in North Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 24, 1914, in Illinois. A resident for many years, he was a grocery store manager and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Linda Anderson of Dolton, Ill.

No local services are scheduled. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Grant H. Cox Sr.

Grant H. Cox Sr., 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born July 9, 1917, in Hinkley, Utah. A resident for 66 years, he was a heavy equipment operator and a member of Operating Engineers Local 12.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; three sons, Grant H. Cox Jr. and James M. Cox, both of Las Vegas, and Chuck L. Cox of Henderson; two daughters, Betty B. Johnson of Las Vegas and Kay Robinson of Alamo; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to 2 p.m. services Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Jefferson K. Greer

Jefferson K. Greer, 53, of Las Vegas died Aug. 11 in a local care center. He was born July 6, 1945, in California. A resident for 4 1/2 years, he was a letter carrier/supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service, an Army veteran and a former member of the American Legion.

He is survived by one son, Jefferson M. Greer of Boulder City; two daughters, Jennifer Barnes of Grover Beach, Calif., and Jackie Greer of San Bernardino, Calif.; his mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Marion Carey; one brother, Rodney J. Carey of Milwaukee; and one sister, Patricia Nixon of Boulder City.

Services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday in the Baptist Church, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Ernest Gyurits

Ernest Gyurits, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born July 12, 1917, in New York City. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired Air Force major and World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran, who served in the 305th Bombardment Group, and was a member of the Retired Officers Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine M.; and one stepson, Dan Devere of Palmdale, Calif.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Stanley Hatkewitz

Stanley Hatkewitz, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 30, 1921, in New York. A resident for 15 years, he was a construction foreman and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one brother, Anton Hatkewitz of New Jersey.

Shantel M. Hawkins

Shantel M. Hawkins, 4, of Henderson died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born April 8, 1995, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her parents, Ron and Sharron Hawkins, one brother, Brandon Hawkins, and three sisters, Sharronda Hawkins, Roshonda Hawkins and Shakeria Hawkins, all of Henderson.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Hites Funeral Services. Burial will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Andrew Juster

Andrew Juster, 54, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 17, 1945, in Los Angeles. A resident for 48 years, he was a retail sales owner-operator.

He is survived by his wife, Jayne E.; five daughters, Karyne Brown and Raychel Cutler, both of Sherman Oaks, Calif., Denyne Jackman of West Covina, Calif., Charly Cutler of Las Vegas and Windy Siedler of Studio City, Calif.; his mother, Estell Juster, one brother, Tim Snider, and one sister, Rhonda Snider, all of Arizona; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Lani Leslie, 19 days, of Las Vegas died Aug. 5 in a local hospital. She was born July 18, 1999, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her parents, Daniel and Cindy Leslie; and one brother, Eric Alexander Martinez.

Visitation will be one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Monday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow at noon Monday in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Dean B. Peskin

Dean B. Peskin, 66, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local health care center. He was born June 8, 1933, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired training director in the health care industry.

He is survived by two daughters, Debbie McDermott and Cathy Goldberg, both of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 9 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Robert K. Reynolds

Robert K. Reynolds, 44, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 6, 1954, in California. A resident for 10 years, he was a slot mechanic.

He is survived by his father, Robert V. Reynolds of Henderson; his mother, Billie Dotte Keith of California; and two sisters, Elizabeth Louthan of Palmdale, Calif., and Lois Long of Sparks.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson.

Grace E. Shumway

Grace E. Shumway, 79, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 2, 1920, in Ozone Park, N.Y. A resident for 28 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, George; one daughter, Marilyn Capparelli of Las Vegas; two brothers, James Kuprian and Edward Kuporian, and one sister, Edith Smith, all of New York.

Visitation will be noon-7 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Clifford Allen Sieler

Clifford Allen Sieler, 61, of Las Vegas died Monday in San Francisco. He was born Nov. 13, 1937, in Mobridge, S.D. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired educator for the Clark County School District.

He is survived by his wife, Anne C.; two sons, Christopher Sieler of San Diego and Thomas Sieler of Las Vegas; and two brothers, Robert Sieler of Hermosa, S.D., and Donald Sieler of Lubbock, Texas.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home.

Leola Simmons

Leola Simmons, 79, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in North Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 1, 1919, in Boston, Ga. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker and was retired.

She is survived by one daughter, Frankie M. Williams of North Las Vegas; three sisters, Olivia Dorsey of Philadelphia, Ella Mae Dawson of Las Vegas and Annie Grace Luke of Thomasville, Ga.; one brother, Willie C. Randall of Thomasville; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be noon-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Vegas View Church of God in Christ. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Martha I. Tenney

Martha I. Tenney, 78, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 1, 1921, in Holbrook, Ariz. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence; five daughters, Gloria Schick of Logan, Utah, Diane Workman of Las Vegas, Myrna Myers of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and Louise Mills and Sharon Griffiths, both of Salt Lake City; two sons, Carl Tenney of White Swan, Wash., and Garth Tenney of Bonners Ferry; two sisters, Ruth Lamoreaux of Mesa, Ariz., and Marilyn Tenney of Salt Lake City; one brother, Joe Ison of Caldwell, Idaho; 37 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Charles Lober Abu Williams

Charles Lober Abu Williams, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 24, 1923, in Philadelphia. A resident for 45 years, he was a music producer, an Army and Air Force veteran, a member of the Tiger Cubs League and a Mason in Pennsylvania.

He is survived by three sons, Charles Harvey Williams, Richard Charles Williams and Tommy Williams; three daughters, Poinsetta Williams, Phylis Williams and Toni Williams; two brothers, Robert O. Williams Jr. and John T. Williams; two sisters, Mary Williams and Kathryn Williams; and eight grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Niter Woldeselassi

Niter Woldeselassi, 27, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 1, 1972, in Ethiopia. A resident for six years, she was a hotel guest room attendant.

She is survived by her husband, Worke Y Berhanu, and two sons, Dagmawe Berhanu and Ashenafi Berhanu, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation was scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial followed in Eden Vale Memorial Park.
