Letter: NRA defender mixing up two diverse ideologies

It goes something like this: Hitler was able to identify Jewish gun owners and thus was able to efficiently confiscate their guns prior to their deportation. Consequently, we must not register guns in this country because some hypothetical tyrant could do the same in America.
Unfortunately, the author seems unable or unwilling to make a distinction between America and Nazi Germany. In return for the liquidation of the brown shirts, the German military was required to take an oath of allegiance to Hitler.
In contrast, our military is required to take an oath to defend and protect our Constitution. Thus, if a self-appointed dictator attempted to dissolve Congress and the federal court system and suspend the Constitution, the military would have to oppose him.
My hat's off to President Clinton for having the courage and patriotism to stand up to the seditious NRA and their lackeys in Congress.
