Las Vegas Area Fishing Report

LAKE MEAD: Striped bass fishing has been slow throughout the lake, except for the area in front of Lake Mead Marina where boaters have located a large school of fish in deep water.
Over the weekend anglers competing in a two-day Nevada Striper Club fishing tournament had poor success, except for the Lake Mead Marina area. Those fish are being caught in deep water by drifting with anchovies.
Striper fishing has been below par in the Overton Arm as well. About the only action has been taking place around Fish Island toward the Virgin narrows.
LAKE MOHAVE: Fishing continues to be fair in the Cottonwood Cove area for small striped bass. Boaters fishing just beyond the narrows above Cottonwood and at Owl's Point are having some luck. Shore fishing has been poor in that area of the lake.
Very little success has been found for stripers during the past week at Willow Beach.
EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR: Rainbow trout fishing continues to be in the summer doldrums with anglers being frustrated by aquatic weeds and only the occasional bite.
ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR: Fishing has been slow at the state park with only a few trout being caught in the early morning and late afternoon hours.
WAYNE E. KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA: Fishing has been slow for rainbow trout, but fair for largemouth bass.
